APRIL 15, 2020

Quarryville continues to do all we can to safeguard the health, well-being, and safety of our residents and team members. We are actively monitoring all our healthcare residents and team members for signs and symptoms of COVID-19 and working with the Pennsylvania Department of Health, the CDC, and the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency and following their guidelines.

All residents living in apartments and cottages are encouraged to self-monitor for signs of fever, persistent cough, shortness of breath, or sore throat. If you have signs of illness, immediately contact your physician and notify the Healthcare Response Attendant by calling 717-786-5207.

Our team members continue to follow the CDC guidelines to reduce the risk of further spread of COVID-19. These include strict handwashing procedures, the utilization of personal protective equipment as needed, and social distancing.

Residents also are strongly encouraged to follow the CDC guidelines which include washing your hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, not touching your face, limiting social interactions, covering a cough or sneeze with your elbow, not your hand, and maintaining a 6-foot distance from any other individual.

THANK YOU to all the residents who are diligently following these guidelines. Your cooperation and commitment is critical to keeping this virus at bay.

Important reminders:

  • All entrances and exits to the campus are closed except for the main entrance on 625 Robert Fulton Highway. All residents and team members must enter and exit the campus at this location.
  • Our entire campus is closed to visitors. This means all buildings, residential apartments, cottages, personal care, skilled nursing, and memory support.
Any items that need to be given to residents can be dropped off at the Delivery Tent between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. at the entrance to campus. Please include the resident’s name and address. Team members will deliver the items to residents as soon as possible.
  • Residents are encouraged to “stay at home” as much as possible and are highly discouraged from leaving campus for any non-life sustaining reason.
Since the governor and CDC have recently recommended the wearing of face masks, QPRC has made hand-sewn fabric masks available at the reception desk in your building. Cottage residents may pick up masks at the check-in tent in front of the Long Building. Remember, masks must cover both your nose and your mouth to be effective.
  • You are strongly encouraged to wear a mask when you leave your apartment or cottage and when you go to the grocery store or pharmacy.
Healthcare areas, including Skilled Nursing, Personal Care, and Memory Support continue to be closed except for end of life situations as directed by the Pennsylvania Department of Health. If you have questions or a family member is facing an end-of-life situation, please call 888-786-7331.
