April 21, 2020

Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community remains vigilant in monitoring the ongoing health, welfare, and safety of our residents and team members. We want to make you aware that on Monday, April 20, 2020, we learned that a nursing staff member tested positive for COVID-19. This individual has not worked since April 12 and is currently at home and doing well. While caring for residents, this individual was wearing proper personal protective equipment. Symptoms (fever, body aches, fatigue) were first noted on April 15. Testing was done the following day. This individual will remain at home until their healthcare provider clears them to return to work.

Our prayers are with the team member and their family.

We believe the virus was contracted outside our facility. Even so, we remain diligent in monitoring our residents for signs and symptoms of illness as well as checking their temperature each shift. There are currently no residents showing signs or symptoms of illness.

Our medical director and the Department of Health have been notified. We are, and will continue, to take every step recommended by federal, state and local authorities to prevent the spread of COVID-19. We remain committed to being transparent in keeping you and your families aware of any changes in our community.
