COVID Visitation Update

On July 27, the CDC released updated Interim COVID guidelines due to the recent surge of COVID-19 and the different variants spreading throughout the country. The CDC recommends all individuals, regardless of vaccination status wear a mask indoors in areas with substantial or high community spread. Lancaster County currently falls into the category of substantial community spread. Out of an abundance of caution and commitment to following CDC guidance as we have from the beginning of the pandemic, we will be requiring masks to be worn by all individuals, vaccinated or not, at all times while indoors. When outside of the facility, fully vaccinated individuals will not be required to wear a mask though we still encourage physical distancing as much as possible.

Residential Living

The guidelines for activities, visitation, dining, fitness center, etc. are not changing at this time. The only change at this time is requiring masks to be worn by all individuals (residents, team members, visitors, contractors, etc.) while inside any of our facilities’ shared spaces, including lobbies, hallways, meeting/activity rooms, etc.  While in the fitness center, you may lower your mask as needed while working out, but it must still be worn. The current guidelines with the pool will stay in effect though we will permit individuals to remove their mask while in the pool as long as you remain physically distanced from those around you. Upon exiting the pool, you must put your facemask back on.

Personal Care

There are no changes to Personal Care at this time as facemasks have been required for all team members, residents and visitors at all times. In-room visitation continues to be available to all Personal Care residents regardless of vaccination status. Visitation is still limited to 4 individuals indoors.

Skilled Nursing

There are also no changes to Skilled Nursing at this time. Facemasks continue to be worn by all team members and visitors (encouraged for residents who are able to tolerate them) at all times. In-room visitation continues with no changes for vaccinated residents while unvaccinated residents must still have supervised visitation. Compassionate caregivers are able to visit with residents regardless of vaccination status.

We ask visitors in every area of our community to please put the safety of our residents and team members first and properly wear a mask at all times while indoors. One positive resident or team member in Skilled Nursing or Personal Care has significant implications on visitation, dining, and activities for all of the residents in that care setting.
