Celebrating 75 Years of Faith and Community

During a time when the world is facing constant change, some places stand steadfast, weathering the passage of time with grace. For 75 years, Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community has been committed to our residents, team members and the Quarryville area. As we mark this special anniversary, we pause to reflect on our journey, celebrating the values that have defined us since the beginning.

Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community was born out of the vision of Reverend Dr. Franklin S. Dyrness, some members of Quarryville’s Faith Presbyterian Church, and members of other Orthodox Presbyterian churches who desired to establish a “home for the aged” where residents would be cared for in a secure, Christ-centered environment. In 1949, the first residents, H. Harvey Long and his sisters, Lillie and Laura, were welcomed into the community.

Over the past 75 years, Quarryville has become a thriving community with rich cultural activity, exciting activities and programming for spiritual and physical wellness, and opportunities to use your God-given gifts. The community has grown to over 400 residents in residential living, personal care living, memory support, and skilled nursing care.

As we celebrate our 75th anniversary, we are grateful for the countless blessings that have sustained the community through the years. We would also like to thank our dedicated team members who provide exceptional care and serve our residents daily with love and kindness. Looking to the future, Quarryville will continue to uphold our Christ-centered values and provide a warm, nurturing environment where residents can retire the ordinary and live the extraordinary!
